People + Places: A Book List for Kids

Launched in 2020, the 保护协会’s “People + Places” book lists celebrate stories 关于 people, 事件, 和 diverse communities in L.A. 及以后! Curated for students of all ages, our book lists include diverse stories 关于 exploring communities in Los Angeles. Each book recommendation is accompanied by a reading guide to help facilitate discussion 和 foster critical thinking in students.

We are grateful to the Young Adult Librarians from the Los Angeles Public Library’s Teen’Scape department who helped curate this year’s teen list 和 to members of the Southl和 Council of Teachers of English 和L.A. 保护协会 志愿者s who designed reading guides to accompany the books.
